Peter Kozak Premier Danseur Sponsored by Dr. James A. Wallace
Premier Danseur Peter Kozak returned to Columbia City Ballet from The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago for the 2005-2006 season. At Joffrey, where he danced for four years, he performed many lead roles, from Head Wrangler in Agnes de Mille's Rodeo to Sugar Plum Cavalier in Nutcracker. He also danced in the revivals of Gerald Arpino's Italian Suite, Reflections and Kettentanz. Mr. Kozak had the pleasure of joining the other Joffrey dancers in Robert Altman's feature film The Company.
Before joining the The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, Mr. Kozak was a principal dancer with Cleveland Ballet. During his five years in Cleveland, he performed in such acclaimed works as Balanchine's Serenade, Theme & Variations and The Four Temperaments. He also danced many demanding principal roles in full-length classics such as Swan Lake, Giselle, Coppelia and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Mr. Kozak originally joined Columbia City Ballet in 1989. He danced with the Company for seven years as a soloist and principal dancer, bringing to life some of Columbia's favorite ballets in leading roles, including The Beast/Prince in Beauty & the Beast and Jonathan Harker in Dracula.
