For the first time since 1997, Halloween is on a Friday night and Count Dracula and his Brides of Darkness will haunt the Koger Center as Columbia City Ballet performs Dracula: Ballet With A Bite for two evening performances on Friday, October 31, at 7:30 and 10:00 pm.

Columbia City Ballet is proud to welcome eight new members to the Board of Directors. The newest board members are Leslie Aiken, Susanne Brown, Barbara Burns, Brian Chatelain, Grant Jackson, Barbara Iaquinto, Jim Masek and Fred R. Sheheen.

Columbia City Ballet will present the world premiere of The Hootie & the Blowfish Ballet in the spring of 2009. The world premiere of this unique multi-media dance and live music collaboration will open Friday, April 3, 2009 at 7:30 pm, with performances at 3:00 and 7:30 pm on Saturday, April 4.

For the 2007-2008 season, Columbia City Ballet has increased attendance at its Educational Outreach performances by greater than 50% over last season. Over 30,100 children attended performances of Scrooge and Alice in Wonderland over a three month period from December 2007 to February 2008.

Columbia City Ballet’s ‘Dancing Under the Stars’ event last weekend has proven to be the most successful fundraising gala in the Company’s 47-year history.

Columbia City Ballet’s Board of Directors launched the Company’s newest fundraising endeavor – The Angel Campaign – at the May 5 performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
