John Karim

Oakland California-born John Karim has danced the role of Nutcracker Prince for two seasons for Columbia City Ballet. The Free Times praised his most recent Nutcracker performance, describing his Fritz as “ebullient” and his Nutcracker Prince “chivalrous,” and crediting him for “nailing the pivotal role with a healthy balance of frivolity and impressive dance skill.” His extensive dance background includes four years with Houston Ballet II, and he has trained at New York City’s School of American Ballet and Houston Ballet’s Stevenson’s Academy. Favorite roles include the Principal in Stanton Welch’s Finger Prints and dancing the Grand Pas Classique, both for Houston Ballet, and he has danced as the Prince for the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet’s Cinderella
