CCBII Auditions
About CCBII
CCBII is the official training and apprentice company of the 45 year-old, fully professional Columbia City Ballet. CCBII is comprised of pre-professional dancers ages 11 to 18 and is designed to feed into the professional company. Since CCBII members perform in all Columbia City Ballet production, they maintain a formal rehearsal and performance schedule, as well as an additional performance and competition aspect.

Auditions for CCBII for the 2010-2011 season will be Saturday, July 24th at 9:30am. A second audition will be Saturday, September 11 at 9:30am. All dancers ages 10 and up with at least one year on pointe are invited to audition. Please bring pointe shoes to the audition. Girls should wear a black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers with hair in slick bun. Make-up is also encouraged. Gentlemen should wear a white t-shirt with black tights and black shoes or black tights with white socks and white shoes. There will be a $10 audition fee due at the time of the audition.
Columbia City Ballet II
2010-2011 Guidelines
All members of Columbia City Ballet II are considered for Columbia City Ballet Koger Center productions. Not all dancers will be needed for all productions; however, the CCBII dancers are cast first, before any outside auditioning dancers. As a member of CCBII, you do not have to re-audition for each production. Each member must commit to the number of classes specified for your level as well as all scheduled rehearsals. In the event the Artistic Staff asks you to perform in run-outs or touring performances, you will be notified no later than two weeks before the performances.
CCBII Trainees are required to take three ballet technique and/or pointe classes per week. At least one of these classes must be taken at the Columbia Conservatory of Dance. These dancers are required to attend all rehearsals & performances schedule as required by the Columbia City Ballet staff. You are allotted 2 excused absences which must be approved in writing at least 2 weeks prior. Excessive tardiness will also not be tolerated. CCBII trainees will not weigh in with the Company, but they may have their height and weight measured once a month. Promotion to CCBII Apprentice is at the discretion of the Artistic Staff.
CCBII Apprentices must have at least two years on pointe. These dancers are required to take four ballet technique and/or pointe classes per week. At least two of these classes must be taken at the Columbia Conservatory of Dance. All other requirements are the same as Trainees. CCBII Apprentices will not weigh in with the Company, but they may have their height and weight measured once a month. Promotion to CCBII Member is at the discretion of the Artistic Staff.
CCBII Company Members dancers must take at least five ballet technique classes every week: Junior Classes at the Conservatory's downtown location Monday through Thursday and on Saturday. All of these classes must be taken at the Columbia Conservatory of Dance. All other requirements are the same as Trainees and Apprentices. This is the last step before a possible invitation to join the Columbia City Ballet as a Trainee or Corps de Ballet member.
Weekly Schedule:
Tuesdays 7:00-8:30 PM
Thursdays 7:00-8:30 PM
Saturdays 1:00-7:00 PM
Rehearsals may not be every week or for the full alloted time but you must be available just in case.
During theater weeks, rehearsals will be Monday thru Thursday from 7:00-11:00 PM.
